Don’t Go, We Will Fund Them is a
trans-led fundraiser that provides crowdfunded support for trans people.
These campaigns exist to cover transitioning costs such as surgery. These costs are barely covered by insurance, and trans people have no option but to pay for them out of our own (often empty) pockets.
Small donations make up more than 70% of most crowdfunding campaigns.
So most are not dependent on one big donation, but many small ones – yet they often don’t get enough of those to fully cover their expenses, as attention dwindles.
That gave us an idea!
What if you paid a small amount every month?
Just like your music or gym subscription, except the money every month goes to a trans person’s crowdfunding campaign! Your monthly subscription benefits trans people’s access to healthcare, hormones, therapy, housing, basically everything the system denies them.
Evening the playing field
This also evens out the playing field: rather than existing purely on someone’s own network, Don’t Go We Will Fund Them sends your donation to someone you might not even know – every month! This way, donations are spread more fairly and don’t depend on someone’s social media presence.
